WELCOME TO NORDIC
Welcome to the Northwest Dentists Insurance Company (NORDIC). We are the preeminent provider of professional liability and business owners insurance to dentists throughout Washington and Idaho.
Since our founding in 1989, we quickly became the dominant carrier in the Northwest, focusing on providing superior claims defense, timely risk management advice, and excellent customer service.
Today we enjoy serving over 2,600 dentists with an 80 percent market share of WSDA member dentists in Washington and a growing presence in Idaho.
We specialize in protecting dentists, unlike most of our competitors who sell dental malpractice insurance in addition to the other professions they insure.
Dentists representing Washington and Idaho serve on our Board of Directors, ensuring that we operate in the best interest of our dentist policyholders. We offer complementary HIPAA compliance forms, informed consent forms, periodontal charts, and risk management advice to our customers.
NORDIC is owned by The Dentists Insurance Company, a subsidiary of the California Dental Association. NORDIC is endorsed by the Washington State Dental Association, the Idaho State Dental Association, Seattle King County Dental Society and the Washington Academy of General Dentistry.
NORDIC is also proud to be a supporter of dental education for UWSoD students through NORDIC’s Endowed Scholarship.
The Washington Dentists’ Insurance Agency (WDIA), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the WSDA, promotes our products in Washington, and the Idaho Dentists Insurance Agency, owned by the ISDA, represents NORDIC in Idaho.
NORDIC & TDIC
In January 2017, Northwest Dentists Insurance Company (NORDIC), Washington's leading professional and general liability insurance company for dentists, was acquired by The Dentists Insurance Company (TDIC). TDIC is headquartered in California and serves dentists in 10 states.
Both NORDIC and TDIC have a shared dentist-centric philosophy, and the joining of these two companies is seen as a generational business opportunity squarely in line with the organizations' shared mission to support dentistry in the Northwest and to protect the future of the dental malpractice industry.
